The benefits of Vitii’s natural biomineral pool

The filtration system developed by Vitii offers a range of benefits for the environment, energy consumption, health and the enjoyment of water. A unique solution that allows you to enjoy pure water without harming the environment or exposing your body to health risks.

A natural swimming pool without plants

Vitii filtration offers all the benefits of a natural swimming pool: soft, chemical-free water that is in harmony with nature.

Thanks to its filtration system, the pool does not require the installation of separate ponds or self-filtering plants. As a result, the water is crystal-clear and soft, with greenish hues. A truly delightful swimming experience in a beautiful setting.

A heated swimming pool

As the Vitii filtration system does not require plants, it can easily be heated both outdoors and indoors.

Reduced water consumption

Biological filtration prevents the build-up of polluting by-products, enabling the water to be reused. It can be discharged into the environment, reused for gardening or other purposes. In fact, the water can even be used as a fertiliser.

Of course, as the filter needs to be cleaned, there will still be some unavoidable waste. But they will use less water than a traditional swimming pool.

A sustainable swimming pool

The Vitii natural swimming pool is sustainable.

The system is non-corrosive to the pool’s components. As a result, the liner deteriorates less quickly than in a traditional pool. The parts that need to be sealed also deteriorate less quickly, as do the coping stones, the pool’s edging, and the various components of the plant room, etc.

A benefit that can lead to significant savings in the long term.

A more energy-efficient swimming pool

The Vitii filtration system helps to optimise the pool’s energy consumption. The filtration system operates at a slower rate than a traditional pool, which helps to save energy. Furthermore, it can be integrated with existing home systems such as dual-rate meters, solar panels, photovoltaic panels, and so on.

A swimming pool that looks after everyone’s health

The Vitii natural pool offers a unique experience. It feels gentle on the skin. It is safe for everyone and causes no eye irritation, respiratory problems or allergies.

A benefit for the whole family.

A smart pool

Here’s one final point not to be overlooked: the Vitii natural pool is connected. You can install an app that allows you to manage the pool in real time and remotely. Yet another advantage when it comes to managing your pool and your energy consumption.

The Vitii natural swimming pool is a real asset for enjoying the pleasures of the water without harming the planet or your health.

A bio-mineral swimming pool that meets the challenges of today and tomorrow!

Natural or biological pool? What are the differences?

Natural or biological pool? What are the differences?

Take a dip in pure, clear, clean water!

As a result, biological, natural and biomineral swimming pools are becoming increasingly popular. And with good reason: they pose no threat to the planet or to human health.

Mais comment faire la différence ? En hoe kies ik het zwembad dat het beste bij mij past? A closer look at the difference between natural and biological swimming pools.

Natural swimming pools: the concept and how they work

Before making a decision, it is worth going back to basics and understanding the key features of each eco-friendly swimming pool.

The origins of so-called eco-friendly swimming pools can be traced back to the swimming pond. This is a garden pond featuring a filtration area designed to filter the swimming zone.

The concept then evolved into the natural swimming pool: a hybrid pool combining pressure filtration with plant-based lagunage.
This filtration system relies on plants and microorganisms to clean, oxygenate and filter the water.

To achieve this, the natural pool is divided into three areas:

  • The swimming area where everyone can swim, play and relax.
  • The lagooning zone is a shallower basin than the first one and serves to filter the bathing water using plants, rocks and microorganisms.
  • The first two zones are connected by the regeneration zone, which oxygenates the water.

What are the pros and cons of a natural swimming pool?

A natural swimming pool has many advantages.

  • First of all, it does not use any chemicals to purify or clean its water. The water is safe and poses no risk whatsoever to either human health or the environment.
  • A natural swimming pool allows you to create a genuine ecosystem. If the pool is well maintained, animals such as frogs, invertebrates and others may make their home there. These animals help to rid the pool of mosquito larvae, for example. This is a boon for aquatic flora and fauna.

Of course, there are drawbacks.

  • A natural swimming pool tends to be more expensive due to the installation of the various pools.
  • It cannot be heated. The plants would not survive if the temperature were too high.
  • A constructed wetland requires careful maintenance. It is essential to monitor it regularly for clogging to prevent blockages.
  • Finally, the water may appear greener due to the presence of bacteria and microorganisms.

The biological or biomineral swimming pool: the concept and how it works

The eco-friendly choice for today and tomorrow

A biological or biomineral pool is an evolution of the natural pool. It features a built-in pool with a pressure filtration system and no lagoon area.

The main difference between a natural pool and a biological pool is that the latter doesn’t use plants to filter the water!

This pool is based on bacterial filtration.

This unique system filters water without using chemicals such as chlorine or bromine. By drawing on living organisms, ecological filtration can mimic the processes found in nature.

The water is first cleaned. All suspended impurities are removed mechanically and dissolved organically. The water is then disinfected using a UV filter with an oxidation system.

Finally, minerals and bacteria are added to the filtration system to maintain the water’s balance.

This filtration system cleans the water in an environmentally friendly and organic way. It also allows for the use of accessories such as heating, covers and other equipment. Furthermore, this system can be installed in indoor or outdoor, private or public swimming pools.

What are the pros and cons of a biomineral pool?

This technology offers numerous benefits.

  • Firstly, it can be installed in all types of swimming pools, whether they are already built or not. This means that every pool can benefit from natural, chemical-free water.
  • The water is clean and pure. It offers a unique swimming experience. The water is crystal-clear and gentle, reminiscent of mountain lakes! A real treat.
  • It poses no health risks. Therefore, there is no risk of irritation or an allergic reaction.
  • This filtration method uses less water and does not pollute water sources.
  • Water can be heated both indoors and outdoors.
  • And let’s not forget that this helps to extend the lifespan of the biomineral pool.

Filtration may involve a higher initial investment. However, it can pay for itself in the long run.

What is the difference between a natural pool and a biological pool?

Natural and biological pools are both types of so-called eco-friendly pools. The difference lies in the filtration method. Natural pools use plants to filter the water, whereas biological pools use bacterial filtration.

This difference affects not only the heating and maintenance of the pool, but also how easy it is to install.

At Vitii, we offer a unique biological filtration system for your biological and bio-mineral pools.

By taking the concept of the natural swimming pool a step further, we have developed a fully biological filtration system that combines the benefits of pure, soft water – water that is healthy for the body and poses no risk to health or the environment – with the pleasures of a traditional swimming pool, such as the ability to adjust the water temperature, installation in an existing pool, and the option of an indoor or outdoor location. An ideal solution for the swimming pools of today and tomorrow.

Vitii’s primary aim is to provide you with a unique swimming experience thanks to water that is clear, gentle and healthy for both you and the environment.

How does a Vitii natural swimming pool work?

How does a Vitii natural swimming pool work?

What a pleasure it is to be able to relax, swim or play in a swimming pool.

Whether outdoors or indoors, installing a swimming pool creates a relaxing space within the home. Today, the swimming pool has become a real living space where you can have fun and unwind. Whether small or large, swimming pools are becoming increasingly accessible, and there are now solutions that combine enjoyment, environmental friendliness and health benefits!

The Vitii pool combines these benefits, allowing you to enjoy it without feeling guilty. Let’s take a closer look at how this natural, biological pool works.

Vitii natural pool: an explanation

Vitii, a swimming pool inspired by nature

Swimming pools are becoming a staple of new-build homes. The sector is seeing annual growth of 20%. And yet, they continue to raise questions.

Whilst traditional swimming pools are becoming increasingly common, they are nonetheless responsible for a certain amount of environmental pollution, increased energy consumption and can even cause health problems.

It is on this basis that the natural swimming pool has gained a foothold in the market. More natural and eco-friendly, they offer a good balance between the pleasures of water and environmental considerations. However, they are not always easy to set up. Indeed, they can only be installed outdoors and cannot be heated. They are more of an aesthetic feature than a proper swimming pool where you can swim, play and enjoy yourself.

Vitii then found the perfect solution by creating the bio-mineral pool.

Eco-friendly filtration for all swimming pools

Vitii offers a unique filtration system specially designed to transform any pond into a bio-mineral pool.

This filtration system provides chemical-free water for both residential and public swimming pools, as well as indoor and outdoor pools.

Our teams have studied nature in order to recreate it in your home, and that is how the Vitii filtration system came about.

The filtration process consists of four main stages:

  • Mechanical filtration removes organic matter to reduce the load on the filter. This process separates out suspended particles.
  • The breakdown of bacteria by the filter.
  • Water purification using UV-C light, which not only disinfects the water but also oxygenates it to help maintain a balanced environment.
  • Adjusting the mineral balance in the water to ensure the filter works properly and to maintain the water’s hardness.

Once it has passed through the filtration system, the water is pure, natural and free from any chemicals. Water that is kind to both swimmers’ health and our planet.

The benefits of the Vitii natural pool

The Vitii bio-mineral pool allows you to enjoy the pleasures of a home swimming pool whilst looking after your health and the environment.

Natural water means you can say goodbye to red, irritated eyes caused by chemicals, respiratory problems and allergies, as well as the unpleasant smell of chlorine. Natural water also helps you save money in the long run as it uses less energy!

Let’s take a closer look at the benefits of a swimming pool with Vitii’s eco-friendly filtration system:

Reduced water consumption

Today, water conservation is a major societal issue that is becoming increasingly pressing. Global warming, poor water management, waste, and other factors are gradually depleting our water resources.

Although more and more measures are being put in place, striking a balance between comfort and water conservation is not always easy.

The Vitii swimming pool helps to strike a balance. Indeed, the eco-friendly filtration system reduces water consumption by minimising the need for filter backwashing.

The only water used is for the backwashing required for filtration. This process removes the build-up of dead bacteria or micro-residues trapped in the filter.

A system based on the circular economy

Vitii is based on the principle of the circular economy; biological filtration allows water to be recycled indefinitely. The filtration system relies on a balance between the inputs and the filter’s digestion process.

Bacterial filtration creates a biological balance that maintains optimal water quality without any build-up of pollutants. When combined with mechanical and UV filtration, water quality is never compromised.

Water free from pollutants

Natural swimming pools offer pure water free from chemicals such as chlorine or bromine. Consequently, no pollution is caused by wastewater and no accumulation of pollutants is observed. Furthermore, the water is beneficial both to human health and the environment. If discharged into the environment, the pool water makes an excellent fertiliser.

A sustainable system

Because a swimming pool needs to stand the test of time and provide years of enjoyment, Vitii pools are made from durable materials. This means there is no risk of corrosion caused by the use of harsh chemicals.

A few more benefits…

  • The filtration system can be installed in all types of ponds
  • The filtration system does not use plants
  • A solution compatible with traditional swimming pool equipment such as pool covers, lighting, heating systems, water features, etc.
  • A pre-assembled system designed to save time during installation

The Vitii bio-mineral pool offers the perfect balance between a traditional pool and a natural pool. Thanks to a tried-and-tested filtration system, you can enjoy pure, chemical-free water with a beautiful greenish-blue hue. A pool that is kind to you and has no impact on the planet.

With Vitii, enjoy water-based fun with the whole family!

chemical-free swimming pool

What is a natural swimming pool?

A natural swimming pool, also known as an eco-friendly pool, natural swimming area or biological pool, is inspired by the bodies of water found in nature. The pool water is purified by aquatic plants and microorganisms. This keeps the water clean without the need for chemicals that are harmful to health or the environment. This natural water purification technique is known as lagunage.

Installing a natural swimming pool involves creating a swimming area and a filtration area where the plants are located. A pump then circulates the water from one basin to the other. It is important to maintain the flow of water, just as in nature.

The benefits of natural swimming

A natural swimming pool offers many benefits:

  • Its design allows it to blend seamlessly into the surroundings. The natural pool features a water feature with a water-green finish. An ornamental pond that adds charm to your garden.
  • A natural pond helps to recreate a genuine aquatic ecosystem and enhances the garden’s biodiversity.
  • It helps to reduce water consumption.
  • It also eliminates the need for chemicals used in water treatment, which can be harmful to health and the environment.

The natural swimming pool is a real ecological asset.

Getting my Vitii pool up and running in the spring

That’s it, spring is here!!!

The lovely spring weather is just around the corner, and it’s almost time to get your Vitii natural pool up and running!

For a successful season, getting off to a good start is absolutely essential!
Here are the three essential steps for a trouble-free summer:

Start/Mineralise

As soon as spring arrives, the first thing you should do is test the water in your natural swimming pool using your Vitii test kit, your Spintouch, or by visiting one of our partners equipped with an Aqualyser counter. Adjust your mineral balance using GH+ or KH+ powder to achieve a ratio between 0.5 and 0.75 when dividing your carbonates (KH or TAC) by your minerals (GH or TH).

Once this balance has been restored, you will need to give your biological filter a proper boost using your Vitii starter pack, which consists of Vitii phosphate remover and Optinit.

Maintain

Check the condition of your four consumables so you’re ready to enjoy the new summer by the pool. Pay particular attention to your Bacteri bag-in-box. This is a perishable product if it has been open for more than six months.
If necessary, do consider replacing it…

bacterial infections

As a reminder, Bacteri contains a blend of beneficial bacterial strains and the minerals needed to maintain your biological filter.

Clean

Whether it’s during the season or at the start of the season, if your biological pool is heavily fouled, our Vitii emergency kit can give you a helping hand!

The pH- powder will enhance the effectiveness of Biobooster+ by promoting bacterial growth, thereby facilitating the removal of waste.

Now that you know all the secrets to a successful season, all that’s left is to enjoy this crystal-clear, clean and refreshing water.
